Founded in 1964, Galerie Thomas is today one of the leading galleries for works by masters of German Expressionism and Classic Modernism. For more than 15 years, Raimund Thomas has co-managed the gallery with his daughter Silke Thomas, an art historian by profession. They run the gallery together with the directors Heike Grossmann and Joerg Paal.
In the field of German Expressionism, Galerie Thomas has staged exhibitions featuring artists of the Blauer Reiter, the Brücke group as well as solo shows of selected representatives of Classic Modernism. Exhibitions of Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism document the activities of the gallery in the field of advanced Contemporary Art.
The gallery has, for many years, been participating in the following international art fairs with this program: Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, Armory Show New York, TEFAF, Maastricht, and Art Cologne.
