The constructions from this series are made from found objects (broomsticks attached together and generally mounted on a floor-standing or wall-mounted base). As with other works by Al Taylor, these broomstick sculptures function as drawing apparatuses in that they explore line, shadow, and color. They highlight their own irregular nature, in that the different pieces are connected in such a way that is deliberately imperfect.
